    AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

    - This panini grill does not heat the front of the cooking surface.

    - It's so bad that I can't even season the front at all (see picture).

    - The max temp in the rear does not go past 450 degrees.

    When I first unboxed the Admiral Craft SG-811E/F, it felt like a smart upgrade for my home kitchen setup. The stainless steel construction has that solid, professional and seemed perfect for whipping up paninis, grilled cheeses, or even smash burgers without taking over the counter. It promised NSF-certified durability and even heating from 120°F to 570°F, I figured it would handle family meals or small gatherings effortlessly.

    That said, after a couple of months of consistent daily use, I'm about to pull back out my old panini press due to persistent issues that have made it more frustrating than functional.

    Uneven heating is the biggest letdown: The front edge of the lower plate (about the first 4-5 inches) stays noticeably cooler than the rest, even after a full 30-40 minute preheat on high. Using an infrared thermometer, I've clocked it at under 200°F while the back pushes toward 450°F max—well short of the advertised 570°F. This means seasoning that front section is impossible (oil just beads up and stays raw; photo attached), and foods like sandwiches won'teven toast over the frontof the plate, leading to inconsistent results and uneven cooking. The upper plate heats up more evenly but also significantly lower than the advertised 570 degrees max, so one side often ends up…
